In case you have not seen this on Shaan Hurleys blog Between The Lines, I thought it would be useful to mention this great little tool, MDITabs.arx that allows you to quickly switch between open drawings.
MDITabs for AutoCAD 2010 - Download Now
To install the utility you extract the appropriate ARX for your version of AutoCAD 2010 (32-bit or 64-bit) in your support path. Then use the AutoCAD command APPLOAD to load it, and add it to your start up suite so it loads each time you start AutoCAD 2010.
As Shaan says in his blog, this tool is unsupported and provided as-is.
Update:
This tool is also available for AutoCAD 2007, 2008 and 2009
AutoCAD 2010 2007/2008/2009 versions in one Zip archive file
Download AutoCAD MDITabs ARX
I wonder is there anything similar for AutoCAD 2008 as well?
I mean, it is very handy to have it for 2010 but I guess most of us still use earlier versions, let alone major companies and industrial users where a software update is more difficult to be implemented.

No there is nothing similar in Autocad 2008(unfortunately). You will have to use from "Windows" drop down menu or using "CTRL+TAB".
This is excellent addition to Autocad products. It's same like using multiple drawing or multiple websites tab.
As I am reading more I am getting convinced that Autocad 2010 have major revisions or changes than earlier product.
Everyone should upgrade to Autocad 2010
