There have been several reports of issues where AutoCAD 2011 for Mac can't be started. In these cases AutoCAD for Mac is installed successfully but on startup it only gets as far as showing the splash screen and then either freezes or quits without an error message.
We've discovered the most common cause of this issue is that AutoCAD for Mac has been installed on a Mac OS whose primary system language is not one supported by this release of AutoCAD for Mac. As listed in the readme, the supported languages for AutoCAD 2011 for Mac are currently as follows:
- U.S. (US)
- British (UK)
- French (France)
2011: AutoCAD for Mac cannot launch with unsupported Mac OS language
In most cases, changing the Mac OS language to one that is supported by AutoCAD 2011 for Mac, and rebooting the system, has resolved the startup problem.
